First Time in the Studio

Welcome to our home away from home! As a first time student, there are a few things which will help prepare you to fully enjoy your time in class, and get the most benefit from your practice.

~ Choose Best Class For You ~

The best way to know which class in right for you is to read the class descriptions located on Mind Body (our scheduling system). If you are starting your practice for the very first time, a foundations class or beginner’s practice is recommended so you feel comfortable and steady in your body and your practice. If you have questions, we are eager to help you find the right practice for your intention. Call the studio and we can go over what programs will work best for you.

~ Arrive Early ~

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first visit to our studio. This will allow you time to fill out a new student form, introduce yourself to the instructor, and let them know about any injuries or contraindications they might need to be aware of. It will also give you time to set up your space.

~ Food & Hydration ~

We recommend not eating for at least an hour before your class. Hydration in any class is key; we have filtered water in the studio, but please bring a refillable container. We have mats for rental if you do not have a mat to practice on yet.

~ What To Wear ~

Arriving wearing the right clothing will allow you to focus on your mat. Yoga is practiced barefoot, so please leave your shoes outside the practice space. Light layers will help you warm up and cool down appropriately. Yoga asana is movement, so clothing which allows you to do so will be helpful. Heavy perfumes, lotions, and body sprays can be distracting and possibly allergenic for others, so please leave them at home.
